Assessment
We provide space for adults, young people, and families to discuss the difficulties which brought them to our service. We aim to build a shared understanding within the context of people we see and explore what they would like to be different in life.
Psychological Therapy
Watkins Blyth Psychology provides direct psychological therapy to support people of all ages, using a range of evidence based models. We work with a wide variety of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, and experiences of trauma.
Training and Workshops
We can produce and deliver workshops and training to professionals and wider staff groups around mental health topics. We can create bespoke training for different services to ensure that it meets their required needs.

Watkins Blyth Psychology is managed by Ellis Blyth, Clinical Psychologist.
Ellis is a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist who has experience working therapeutically with individuals of all ages. Ellis understands the benefits of developing a strong therapeutic relationship and endeavours to create a space of safety and compassion to act as stable roots for psychological work to build on.

What therapy do you offer?
We are able to offer a range of therapeutic approaches inlcuding Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy.
Where do sessions take place?
Assessment and therapy sessions take place at the Active Business Centre in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. For staff training and workshops, I may be able to travel to deliver on location.
What happens during our first appointment?
Our first appointment gives us an opportunity to learn about each other. We use this opportunity to explore what you are finding difficult and what you would like to be different. This also allows you to see if I am the right fit for you. At the end of the appointment we will discuss a plan moving forward where you have the opportunity to book further sessions.
When do sessions take place?
Watkins Blyth Psychology operates on Wednesday’s between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00.
How long do sessions last?
Therapy sessions last approximately 50 minutes. Assessment sessions are longer, lasting around 80 minutes to give us more time to build an understanding of what you are finding difficult.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions will vary from person to person. At Watkins Blyth Psychology, we aim to stay goal focused to ensure that we are actively working towards change. There are no minimum booking requirements for the number of sessions.
How much does a private therapy session cost?
Private therapy sessions cost £150 for a 50 minute appointment. Assessment sessions are charged at £180 for an 80 minute session. Prices include any planning and administration regarding your appointment. The writing of reports such as those for cogntive assessments are charged differently.
